The Truffle Festival website has been almost the single promotional outlet for the Festival (give or take a few press ads). Built by us <thinktag> in 2009 and has been updated each year. With some welcome funding from the ACT Govt. Events Assistance Program, we were able to advertise for the first time . The advertising in Sydney Morning Herald were small teaser ads which pushed people to the website for any real information. Some venues believed they filled totally from online enquiries driven from the Festival website. This year we added Facebook and Twitter to the website’s audience interactivity.
This is a small but already prestige tourism event for Canberra that will develop into a significant drawcard for many years to come. We have received further grant assistance as a developing event in 2013 and that will give us the promotional resources to ensure this event in Canberra’s future.
